WHAT IS THE COLLECTOR’S ARCHIVE?
This is our curated list of replica saber designs, inspired by the characters from across all forms of media, including film, games, comics and more. They are engineered with immaculate attention-to-detail, utilising bespoke internal layouts with current-gen removable cores. They showcase additional mixed materials such as stainless steel, chrome, leather, rubber, glass etc. all to offer as accurate a representation of the source material as possible. This is where the fun begins. Our workbench offers a range of original and custom hilt designs, purpose-built to be simple and economical, but utilise mostly interchangeable components for an intuitive and consistent assembly process. You may take advantage of this by choosing to immersively construct a saber on your own, or have us pre-assemble it for your convenience. Fear not, there is no complicated installation of electronics or specialised tooling required; everything can be assembled/disassembled by hand straight out the box.
HOW DO I BUILD MY OWN SABER?
Simply select the “Do-It Yourself” assembly option when ordering any saber from Ilum’s Workbench, and you’ll receive the saber assembly kit and instructions.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN XENO RGB AND XENO PIXEL?
These are the two cutting-edge technologies that we use in our saber’s internals. Whilst we use these names to broadly describe the entire saber, both explicitly refer to the “soundboard” of the saber, which is at the very core of its operation; a microcomputer responsible for all the firmware that brings the saber to life. Both soundboards equally boast a roster of features including, color changing, soundfont configuration, smooth swing, accent swing, ignition and hum effects, clash, lock-up, tip drag, tip melt, blaster deflection, force abilities, lightning block, background music, motion control, auto-shutdown, mobile app and SD card compatibility and more.
Xeno RGB is a “baselit” board, meaning it controls a powerful group of RGB LEDs that are housed in the hilt’s emitter. The blade is a hollow and extremely durable length of polycarbonate that is illuminated by and diffuses the LED’s light, hence the namesake: baselit. Consequently, this option of saber is not as bright or impressive to look at in well-lit conditions such as broad daylight, however it is economical, has superior battery life, is lightweight and ideal for heavy-duelling or spinning/tricks.
Xeno Pixel is a “neopixel” board, meaning it interfaces with a secondary circuit board on the blade, which itself houses hundreds of individually addressable LED pixels, hence the namesake: neopixel. The blade is incredibly bright and impressive and is evenly-lit throughout. It is consequently more demanding on the battery life and weighs a bit more, but is capable of far more advanced and responsive effects such as ignition and hum, clash, lock-up, tip drag etc., making it ideal for collectors, cosplayers and more advanced duellists or spinners/tricksters.
WHAT IS A SOUNDFONT?
This is the term used to describe an effects settings preset. That is, you can configure different sound, lighting and colour effects as a preset (soundfont) to be easily accessed and toggled on-the-go. By default our sabers come with 16 (Xeno RGB) or 34 (Xeno Pixel) pre-installed soundfonts for you to edit or build upon easily via the mobile app or optional SD card.
HOW DO I CUSTOMIZE MY SABER’S CONFIG AND SOUNDFONTS?
The easiest way is via the Xeno Configurator mobile app, available for both Android and iOS. Every aspect of your saber’s firmware, preferences and soundfonts is configurable through the app, plus there are frequent updates adding even more features to your saber at no extra cost. This is the best option for tweaking sensitivities or changing blade colours/control schemes etc.
If you have an SD card included with your saber, you can also plug it into a computer with the included USB reader and edit the config files manually. This is more useful when adding multiple new soundfonts. However, please note that you do so at your own risk, and we always strongly recommend that you back-up the default files before attempting to alter or add anything.
CAN I DUEL WITH MY SABER?
Yes, our sabers are all rated for duelling, but depending on the specific hilt and internals selected, the severity of the duelling will have to vary. As a general rule, any Xeno RGB saber is fit for heavy duelling, whilst any Xeno Pixel saber is better limited to light duelling.
WHAT BATTERY DOES MY SABER USE?
We use rechargeable protected lithium-ion batteries in all sabers. These are typically in the TR 18650 formfactor, with some exceptions using TR 16340 instead.
Please refrain from using batteries from any third party, as these are often unprotected cells, and may cause catastrophic damage to your saber if inserted incorrectly.

WHAT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH MY SABER?
We offer a 1 year limited warranty on all sabers (valid from the date of purchase) covering manufacturing and software related faults. If you are experiencing an issue with your saber, please read below for further troubleshooting and potential resolution, or contact us if you still need assistance.
Please note that damage due to physical or electronic abuse, including but not limited to moisture, duelling, improper battery care or user-induced corruption of firmware, does not constitute a warranty claim.
WHY AM I STRUGGLING TO CONNECT THE APP TO MY SABER?
Ensure that the saber core is switched on and has a sufficient battery charge, and that the bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device. Some hilts’ materials can interfere with the bluetooth connection. Please try removing the core or otherwise exposing the soundboard to the open and try again. Likewise, too many mobile devices or other sabers in the vicinity may cause interference. Try moving away from any such cause of the issue. If you are still struggling, please contact us.
See below for further troubleshooting.
WHY WILL MY SABER NOT CHARGE/POWER ON?
Double-check that the included USB Type C cable is correctly inserted all the way. If you are using one of the removable cores with a killswitch, please ensure that it is set to the “ON” position for both charging and usage. Otherwise, ensure that the battery is placed in the correct orientation, with the positive (+) side facing upward toward the emitter-end, and has sufficient contact with the battery tabs in the core.
Please refrain from using batteries from any third party, as these are often unprotected cells, and may cause catastrophic damage to your saber if inserted incorrectly.
WHY DOES MY BLADE COME OFF/FLICKER WHEN I USE MY SABER?
The blade is held in place by a series of retention screws. It could be that these are simply not tightened enough, causing the blade to come out or have insufficient support. Fear not, the blade is very durable and can handle a tight hold. Tighten the screws down all the way and one at a time, then your blade will stay secure even during vigorous movements (Just be sure not to over-tighten and strip the thread).
